Jessica Izzo is a dual qualified English Solicitor and Italian Avvocato Stabilito who, embracing the best of both countries, currently divides her professional life between London and Rome. She is also a non-practising solicitor in the Republic of Ireland.
After obtaining a Higher Diploma in Banking & Finance, Jessica obtained her LLB Law degree and completed the LLM Legal Practice course at the University of Westminster, specialising in property and commercial law.
She has also studied Italian law, focusing on aspects of private international law, real estate and corporate contracts from a comparative perspective between common law and civil law systems. She is currently completing a second level Masters in Business Law at Luiss Guido Carli University.
Jessica assists international corporate clients with the acquisition and disposal of commercial property. She reviews, drafts and negotiates the terms of complex leases and licences, advising on rent review clauses, enforceability of covenants and remedies in the event of default. In the context of property development, she advises on construction contracts and, under the direction of Luigi Bernardis, provides highly specialised assistance to developers, landlords and tenants in both non-contentious and contentious proceedings.
She also has extensive experience in residential conveyancing, assisting clients with the acquisition and disposal of registered and unregistered leaseholds, freeholds and off-plan properties. She deals with a wide variety of property cases including lease extensions and collective enfranchisements.
Jessica also works closely with Michele Menato, providing practical legal advice to international clients on property transactions in Italy, liaising with local estate agents, surveyors and Italian notaries.
Finally, Jessica assists clients with cross-border inheritance and estate planning.
